The Chartered College of Teaching is committed to supporting early career teachers to make the strongest start to their teaching journey. This is more important than ever considering the huge challenges for the profession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We must ensure that the next generation of teachers have access to the resources they need and are fully equipped to provide excellent teaching.
That is why the Chartered College has launched the Early Career Hub; an indispensable resource packed with articles, interactive content and high-quality classroom footage created by teachers and academics, aligned to the Early Career Framework and Teachers’ Standards and tailored to the needs of early career teachers.
The Early Career Hub is available free to all student teachers and NQT members of the Chartered College.
Access for Abbreviated to ITT, the period of academic study and time in school leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) More providers
As an Initial teacher training – the period of academic study and time in school leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) More provider, we invite you to use the wide variety of resources available on our Hub to support your provision for trainees. Resources include high-quality video content which will be of benefit to trainees who may not have access to classroom and teaching footage due to the current situation.
We know that many of you are already Chartered College members, which will provide you with full access to the Early Career Hub as well as our many other benefits – you can find out more about membership here or please get in touch to discuss full membership across your team via firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are not yet a member but would like to preview the content, we are able to provide one online membership for each ITT provider organisation. To sign up, please follow the instructions below. Note that only one person should sign up via this free link per provider, but it is also possible to browse much of the site without logging in.
- If you are in a school / teaching-based role, please sign up as a free online programme member
- If you are in an HEI / non-teaching-based role, please sign up as a free online programme Professional Affiliate.
Please note that in both cases, the pages will talk about being part of a programme; please disregard this. When you get to the drop down asking what programme you are on, please select ‘Teacher educator – school based’ or ‘Teacher educator – HEI’ as appropriate.
Access for student teachers
We would also like to encourage all of your student teachers to become members to access the Hub resources and tools for themselves – membership is free for those in full-time training. Students can join through the Chartered College website here, and we will provide more promotional material in the coming weeks should this be useful for you and your trainees.
